About US

The history of Embroidery is extremely diverse spanning from pure golden stitches gracing the gowns of queens to simple motifs made accessible to the poorest. Initially reserved for adornment of objects and garments for religious ceremonies; royalty and nobility being loyal patrons of Hand Embroidery started displaying it on uniforms as a mark of their stature, power and wealth in the society.

The exuberance of decorative fantasy of Embroidery has become, through the ages, a part of a country’s military heritage. Uniforms through Embroidery tell a history of the service, individual and organizational awards and encourage a sense of pride in the Officer in the form of a display of various Badges, Insignias and other Embroidered Ornaments.

From humble beginnings in 1948, my grandfather Mr. Bijay Krishna Agrawal started Widelinks Inc. A young lad of 16; he came from a family background of textiles and Embroidery. He began to specialize in Embroidering Badges for UK Ministry of Defence, several Fashion Houses, various Ivy League Universities; Oxford, Cambridge, Yale to name a few, renowned Airlines and Orthodox Churches of Europe. Widelinks Inc. still remains a Family Owned Business and is the most preferred name in the World of Embroidery.

Over the years with extraordinary quality and exquisite Embroidery Widelinks Inc. has been Embroidering Badges for the Military of more than 40 countries across six continents; such as USA, UK, Japan, Europe, Africa, Middle East etc. Our Embroidery adorns the Uniforms of The Honour Guards of The Royal Family as well as Highest Ranking Officers of the Military of several countries. Widelinks Inc. has expertise in Embroidering Epaulets, Peaks for Visors, Badges and all Hand Made Ceremonial Wear worn by Officers in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, Marines etc.

Widelinks Inc. has a workforce of highly skilled craftsmen; who have been Embroidering with Bullion Thread for generations. They have dedicated their whole lives to this craft and with perfection breathe life to the uniforms through Hand Embroidery. We house an enviable collection of Military Specifications and reference books which today are hard to find. These are used by our Design Team to provide our customers with Embroidery which is technical and precise to the point. Extensive research and experience of more than 80 years help us discern that every detail is incorporated in the Embroidery. In short, our Embroidery is an embodiment of style, substance, and value. You cannot help but be enchanted by the delicate images, the colours, and the elegance they portray.

Widelinks Inc. is a legacy passed on from generation to generation; My father Raj Kumar Agrawal who has been working in the business since he was 18 years old has amassed more than 40 years of experience. I joined the business in the year 2000; and now have 20 years of experience. With a long heritage to protect and a timeless craft to preserve we not only are craftsmen but also teachers of this beautiful Art. Today embroidery is used to highlight the juxtaposition between an old traditional technique and its more contemporary use in modern times.
